How much waste should I add?
The waste-rate field is yours to set — straight layouts usually need about 10%, diagonal or complex cuts closer to 15%.
Does it cover grout and adhesive?
Yes — the materials panel estimates adhesive and grout from your tile size and grout width, shown next to the tile count.
What is the difference between the two modes?
Area mode takes a total m² figure for a quick estimate; dimensions mode takes room length and width for more precision. Tile count, boxes, materials and cost are computed the same way in both.
How are adhesive and grout estimated?
Adhesive uses a ~5 kg/m² rule of thumb; grout kilograms come from the total joint length multiplied by joint width and depth. Both are ballpark figures — site conditions decide the real amount.
