Frequently asked questions
Which preset durations are built in?
1, 5, 10, 15, 25 and 60 minutes, plus a custom field that accepts any number of minutes. Stopwatch mode simply counts up from zero.
Does the countdown stay accurate in a background tab?
Yes — remaining time is computed from real elapsed milliseconds on every tick, so browser throttling of background tabs does not make it run slow. The chime, however, only plays when the page is allowed to run code.
Why didn't the finish chime play?
The chime uses the Web Audio API: the page must stay open, the device unmuted, and most browsers only allow sound after you have interacted with the page once — pressing start counts.
