AC Calculator
Calculate required cooling capacity and AC horsepower based on room conditions.
What is Ac Calculator
Size an air conditioner before you buy: enter the room area, occupant count and whether it's a top-floor or west-facing room — both add a heat-load bonus — and get the required cooling capacity in watts plus a horsepower recommendation. Sign-in required.
How to use Ac Calculator
- Enter the room area in square metres
- Set occupant count and toggle top-floor / west-facing if they apply
- Read the required cooling watts and suggested HP class
Frequently asked questions
Why do top-floor and west-facing rooms need more?
A roof adds solar heat from above and a west wall takes the strongest afternoon sun, so both raise the heat load — the tool adds a bonus to the base watts-per-m² figure for each.
How is the HP class picked?
The required wattage is mapped to common AC classes (1 HP ≈ 2,500 W cooling). Borderline rooms get "size up" guidance — buying slightly oversized is better than undersized.
Does it work for heating too?
It's sized for cooling load. Heating needs differ by climate and insulation — use it as a floor, not a heating spec, in cold regions.
